Case Writer

Mehlman Barnes LLP seeks a Case Writer to join its growing team. Under the supervision of an attorney, the Case Writer will be responsible for persuasive/legal writing, editing, and preparation of U.S. immigration petitions and applications with a focus on employment-based nonimmigrant and immigrant visa matters. Will be responsible for preparation of appropriate forms for submission to various federal agencies.  Will assist with assembling petitions, supporting documentation, etc.  May be required to conduct research. The qualified candidate will self-manage a diverse case load, review files, and prepare status reports. Consultation with attorneys will be required. Willingness to perform other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s Degree required. Must have strong writing skills, be detail oriented, and possess the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, environment.

Immigration Paralegal

Mehlman Barnes LLP seeks a Paralegal to join its growing team. Under the supervision of an attorney, the Immigration Paralegal will be responsible for PERM labor certification processing, persuasive/legal writing of complex nonimmigrant (H, L, O, TN visas, etc.) and immigrant petitions (EB-1/2/3), researching and drafting RFE responses and other complex correspondence pertaining to employment-based U.S. immigration matters. Will be responsible for preparation of appropriate forms for submission to various federal agencies.  Will assist with assembling petitions, supporting documentation, etc. May be required to conduct research. The qualified candidate will self-manage a diverse case load, review files, and prepare status reports. Consultation with attorneys will be required. Willingness to perform other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s Degree and at least two years of employment-based immigration experience required. Experience must include H-1B visa and PERM labor certification processing. Must have strong writing and organizational skills, be detail oriented, and possess the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, environment.

Associate Attorney

Mehlman Barnes LLP seeks an Associate Attorney to join its growing team. The Associate Attorney will be responsible for assisting the firm in representation of corporate immigration clients. Duties will include assisting with eligibility assessments for non-immigrant and immigrant visa benefits, preparation of complex petitions and applications for submission to various federal agencies in pursuance of non-immigrant and immigrant benefits, and perform other duties as assigned.

Juris doctor and California Bar license required. Prior employment-based immigration experience in areas of H-1B, O-1, PERM, and immigrant benefits including (EB-1/2/3) and adjustment of status required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills within a fast-paced environment. Ability to Multi-task in a fast-paced environment with competing demands. Ability to contribute to positive work environment.
